Recently, things in my life have been a little crazier than usual. When life happens, the first thing most of us want to do is to getaway. Vacation always seems to solve the problem. By going, you get some time to relax, collect your thoughts, and of course get away from it all. But that’s much easier said than done. Or is it? I recently had the pleasure of having a mini vacay without having to leave my local surroundings. How or where you may be asking…well friends, my mini getaway was to my local Burke Williams Spa Woodland Hills.
A spa day is really like a vacation. In fact, it’s even better because you don’t have the stress of planning or packing. The only stress for a spa day is deciding on what services you want to get. Rough life right! Why didn’t I think of this before. My experience was so pleasant, I literally did not want to leave. In fact, I plan on trying to treat myself (hopefully) every month to a relaxing spa day to help escape and rejuvenate. I’ve had the opportunity to visit a few different Burke Williams Spas throughout the city but the Woodland Hills location is definitely my fave. Not because its close to me, even though that helps, but the layout & amenities were amazing.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by a few staff members which eagerly helped me check-in and walk me through the spa. As soon as I walked though the door into the waiting area & garden room, a sense of calm came over me. The decor was impeccable. Very chic yet comfy. Like you are at home. And the garden room was unlike anything I have been before. Plush green walls, pink & purple couch like chairs, butterfly accents, and my favorite area – the gravity chairs. I literally fell asleep in these chairs for an hour after my services. I highly recommend it.
My visit started off with a Pure Relaxation Massage. This personalized Swedish massage blends long, flowing, and circulatory strokes to restore calm to the mind and body, while increasing circulation and promoting deep relaxation. As someone with several different injures all over the body, this is a great massage for anyone who doesn’t like too rough of a massage. Before starting the massage, I explained the several areas where i carry the most tension as well as the areas I wanted to avoid. Once she accessed my needs, the massage therapy began. Initially, I tend to have a hard time relaxing. Hence the massage. But this massage was anything but tense. From the minute I lied down on the bed, I began to relax so deep that I fell asleep mid massage. Now that’s my definition of a good massage.
For my second service, I was treated to an Express Spa Facial. Again this couldn’t have come at a better time since I just got back from Mexico and my skin was in need of proper hydration. The facialist started off with asking a few questions about my skin, problem areas, and a focal points. And now it was time to get to good stuff. Step one was to cleanse the skin. Next step was exfoliation. She removed dead skin, impurities, and also performed any extractions. After that, it was time to use a masque. The one I used was the pumpkin mask. Packed with zinc, antioxidants, and vitamins, the pumpkin mask protects your skin from wrinkles and age spots as well as gently exfoliates for a more radiant complexion. The last step, is hydration followed by a mini massage. And once again, I fell asleep mid facial.
The Burke Williams Spa also has great spa amenities like a steam room, whirlpool jacuzzi, dry sauna, and cool misting rooms. You can just use these amenities on their own or as well as before and/or after any services. They also offer mani’s and pedi’s, as well as a style bar. All in all, this was the perfect day and “vacation” like getaway. I would highly recommend anyone needing a little R & R or just ME time, visit your local Burke Williams Spa. You can thank me later! 😉
I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope you have a great day. With lots of love…
