Slip dresses aren’t just for the bedroom anymore. With 90’s inspired fashion trends making a major comeback this year, slip dress are now being worn as street wear. And of all the 90’s trends out now, slip dresses are definitely one of my favorites. You can wear it so many different ways and to so many places. But being curvy, wearing a slip dress can sometimes not be as flattering as other dress styles. Luckily, I was able to find the perfect slip dress for us curvier gals & today I am going to share with you, my new refound love for Wet Seal…
I remember back in High School when I would shop at Wet Seal. But as I began to grow older, my style began to change and Wet Seal was no longer the place for me to shop. Until recently when I was re-introduced to the brand and became super impressed with their selections. Not only do they carry all the latest trends like bomber jackets, off the shoulder styles, & slip dresses, but they also have a very similar assortment in their Plus section. When most brands offer plus size clothing, they tend to carry only a few styles and nothing to fashion forward. But Wet Seal’s Plus collection carries all the latest trends and in “normal” sizes that fit us curvier gals. Oh and I forgot to mention that they also carry XL, perfect for the in-between gal like myself.
When I saw this slip dress online, I immediately had to have it. I was ready to style the dress in several different ways. As soon as I received it, no joke I think I have worn it almost everyday. What I love about slip dresses are you can wear it home but when you are ready to head out, you don’t need to change. For today’s look, I am sharing how I styled this Wet Seal Plus Floral Slip Dress two ways for a more casual look.
Every fashionista should have a leather jacket in their wardrobe. I paired this floral slip dress with a fun faux leather jacket in pink. You can also style it with a black leather jacket, a bomber, or a denim jacket. Each style is easy to dress up or down and wear from day-to-night. Because I wanted a more casual feel, I paired this look with these super cute black side slit booties, that I also got from Wet Seal. You can also layer your slip dress with a white t-shirt, playing homage to the 90’s trend. Lastly, I styled the look with and without a hat. To add a neutral pop, I chose this camel hat which pairs back to the camel suede bag perfectly. This is a look that I will probably wear over and over again, because styling a slip dress is just too easy.
